Tonight, I had an escapee...

Girls, you asked for some of the events with my grandmother...here is a good one!!

To give you a little history on the subject of escaping....a couple months ago when it was still cold and frosty in the mornings, my grandmother let herself out the back door. This happened sometime between Mike coming home at 6:30am and me letting the dog out around 10am. That morning I got up everything seemed normal, and her bedroom door was shut. So I opened all the blinds, to make sure there wasn't anyone outside that the dog would bark at. The coast seemed clear, so out the door the dog went. About the time I opened my breakfast, a pepsi, the dog started barking her head off. So I looked to see what had her going...nothing, then I saw what she was barking at...my grandmother, in her nightgown and wet socks. She was all the way over on my uncle's part of the yard, lost and hiding. That night I started setting the alarm, and she sets that off often, between 2 and 3am.

Fast-forwarding to tonight...

She was mad that Mike left her and went to work. As soon as he left, she started in on me...and wanted to know why I don't like her. Well after an hour or so of that, nothing would console her. I let the dog out, and headed to the bathroom myself (good ol' prenatal). I heard the back door open and she was on her way. Now normally this is ok, all the gates are locked, and we thought that she couldn't work the locks. She proved us wrong. I came out of the bathroom, and I didn't see her in the yard, so I called next door and asked my aunt if she was over there...and she wasn't. We searched the yard...no Oma, and the dog was still in the yard. Hmm.... We looked up and down the streets, in front of both houses, no Oma. She moves like a snail, where could she have gone? Then we found the open gate, she had unlocked it and walked out it, but not closed it all the way. I went for the car, started driving while Carol stayed here. I finally found her, walking with a sweater on, in the far NW corner of the neighborhood, before reaching Parkcrest. When I pulled up next to her and asked what she was doing, all she could say was "that she had asked me for a ride."
